Sopranos Rebecca Shorstein and Monica Pasquini are known for their dynamic and innovative performances as the duet act Rebonica, presenting unique shows with symphony orchestras, cabaret venues, and private events across the United States and abroad. They began their 2017-18 season in September with their Italian debut at the Istituto Maria Ausiliatrice in Torino, Italy performing Canzoni d’amore e di amicizia. Their season continued with their debut in Louisville, Kentucky for a performance of Country Gals to City Girls; in Sarasota Florida for Cabaret and Cocktails; and a return to Florida for a special guest performance with the Jacksonville Civic Orchestra. They reprised their signature cabaret Christmas vs. Hannukah at the Livermoore Theater in Pittsburgh last December and are thrilled to be bringing it to Florida this winter! In June, they were invited to central Italy to perform La notte dei fiori for Le Infiorate di Spello, to rave reviews. Following last season’s sold-out performances at Don’t Tell Mama in New York City, they return to debut numerous new cabarets in the upcoming season.

Both classically trained and internationally renowned performers, Rebecca and Monica are originally from Florida and are currently based out of New York City. Rebecca, originally from Jacksonville, made her European debut in 2010 as Königin der Nacht from Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte with the Mittelsächsiches Theater Freiberg and her 2013 Carnegie Hall debut in concert with the New York Lyric Opera singing excerpts as Juliette in Gounod’s Romeo et Juliette. Rebecca was most recently seen as Giannetta in Hubbard Hall Opera’s production of L’elisir d’Amore and Gretel in Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel and she will be reviving the role of Despina in Mozart’s Cosi fan tutte with Opera on the James in the spring of 2018. Monica, from Sarasota, FL, made her Carnegie Hall debut as Die Königin der Nacht in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte. Monica has been a finalist in the Licia Albanese-Puccini Foundation International Vocal Competition, as well as a finalist in the Violetta DuPont Vocal Competition. She recently performed the role of Olympia in Offenbach’s Les contes d’Hoffmann in New York City, while also making her London debut performing at All Hallows-by- the-Tower.

Both Rebecca and Monica are thrilled to be able to combine their classical training, love of opera, and passion for musical theater to present unique and exciting musical experiences for audiences around the world.
